Minister Deonté Griffin-Quick
Minister Deonté Griffin-Quick accepted the call to "preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine" and was licensed to preach the Gospel on June 17, 2017. He serves as an associate minister at Deliverance Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, under the leadership of his aunt and pastor, Rev. Leslie C. Davis. Furthering the legacy as the 4th generation of Jackson family preachers to lead in DBC.
Raised in the church, Deonté always had a willingness to serve. He could always be found in the choir, leading devotion, serving as an adjutant to Pastor Davis, or simply helping wherever he was needed. After being baptized at the mere age of 10 years old, just two years later Deonté rendered his first sermon entitled: "G.O.D: God Opens Doors" (Revelation 3:8). And since then, many doors have been opened for him. He has been afforded many opportunities to preach and lead worship at churches throughout the Tri-State area.
While in college, Deonté continued his assignment by serving as the Vice-President of the award winning Kean University Gospel Choir. During his tenure, he assisted in carrying the vision of the choir while often leading bible study
or prayer.
Deonté is passionate about empowering and encouraging other young adults and helping them grow in their spiritual walk.
Deonté is a man after God's own heart. It has been my immense pleasure to have him as Vice President of Kean Gospel Choir and to work alongside him in ministry. As my right-hand man, he was intentional in every decision that was made regarding our members. Rooted in his Word, Deonté always made sure that whatever we did as a ministry, was according to Doctrine and would bring glory to God.
