It was in his early years when Deonté Griffin-Quick fell in love with the work of classical African-American playwrights such as August Wilson and Amiri Baracka.
From humble beginnings acting in his grandmother Diane’s community stage plays, Deonté has performed at professional theatres and venues including The Prudential Center, Enlow Recital Hall, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the world renowned Apollo Theater in Harlem, McCarter Theatre Center, Premiere Stages, Luna Stage Company, New Jersey Repertory Company,
and on Fox 5 Good Day NY.
After graduating from the Academy for the Performing Arts, Deonté attended Kean University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance. DGQ is a proud Equity Membership Candidate of the Actor’s Equity Association.
Deonté is a man of integrity and a respected member of the NJ professional theatre community. I am certain he will do great things for American theatre in the near and distant futures...
